The House of Representatives unanimously approved this afternoon and turned to the Senate a new scheme for employees of private homes, including vacation pay, leave maternity leave, bonus and severance pay at
equate domestic staff benefits with the rest of the workers as employees.

provides an amendment to the law of contract and seeks to limit the workday to 8 hours and incorporates the maternity leave, retirement and vacations for employees in private homes.

"The law allows us to get out of a semi-feudal regime implemented by the dictatorship in 1956 and enter into a system of equality and social inclusion",
said the owner of the Labour Law Committee, the Kirchner Héctor Recalde, to determine the scope of the rule, adopted unanimously and without debate.
The text, which received a number of changes in the debate in committee- states that working hours be limited to 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week , unlike the current law which allows up to 12 hours of staff work without removal, and places no limits on hours staff with retirement. Once the project becomes law, the employer may establish an uneven distribution of the 48 hour work week without any time exceed 9 hours. The rule also establishes a minimum weekly rest of 35 hours beginning Saturday between 13 and 16, while the number of days rental also will equate to the provisions of the Employment Contracts Act , with 14 days per year will increase according to seniority.
According to the text, employees of private homes will also have the same number of days of sick leave , the employer must hire an occupational risk insurance and severance pay doubling (today is a month's salary for each year of service).
The initiative also prohibits Work under 16 , apply in all cases
(so far covered only those who work more than 4 hours per day, 4 times a week) and includes nannies and caregivers and disabled adults without professional knowledge.
The text defines work in private homes as "any services or performing cleaning, maintenance and other activities typical of the home" and
seeks pay "immediately" social debt "to purpose of amending the notable delay in the regulations concerning the labor sector " , according to the basics. Source:
