Benedict XVI warns of the risks of internet use today opened 150 schools

Pope Benedict XVI said Monday that the risks involved with internet use are loss of privacy, the superficiality of relationships and the more powerful view prevail over the truth.
In his address yesterday to the participants at the meeting of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, the pope noted that new technologies are changing not only how to communicate, but also is leading a vast cultural transformation. The Bishop of Rome said: "The risks involved are in sight of all: loss of privacy, superficial relationships, lack of emotion and the precedence of the more powerful view of the desire for truth," adding that hence the need, urgently, a reflection on the language developed by new technologies. In this message, the pope also urged young people to make "good use" of social networking sites. (Source: Emol)
